The shelter runs on people like you

Last year, 140 volunteers gave 9,200 hours - walking dogs, socializing cats, and fostering 180 animals too young or too stressed for kennel life.

Getting started

  1. Attend one orientation

Offered the first Saturday of each month at 10 a.m. and one weekday evening - about 45 minutes, at the shelter.

  2. Pick your role and schedule

Sign up for shifts in the volunteer portal. Two shifts a month keeps you active; more is always welcome.

  3. Level up if you want

Experienced volunteers can train for behavior work, transport runs, and clinic-day support.

Court-ordered community service: we accept most placements for shelter support roles. Call (555) 010-7300, option 4, before your first visit so paperwork is ready.
